Vitamin A is Your Skin's Bestie

Updated: Aug 21, 2023

Also known as Retinoids, Vitamin A is the skin vitamin. If you want healthy skin, you want Vitamin A. The thing is that most people are only familiar with Retinol, which is the very active, alcohol form of Vitamin A that can cause sun sensitivity and shedding. The good news is that there are milder forms of Vitamin A that are easier for the skin to tolerate, that are just as effective. That is why I choose to work with Environ.

Our Vitamin A levels are depleted daily by UV light, so this essential skin nutrient must be replenished every day for skin to appear healthier and more resilient. When you combine Vitamin A with other essential skin nutrients like antioxidants and peptides, you will see and feel the beautiful results.

Vitamin A normalizes the skin. When your skin has sufficient levels of Vitamin A, skin is plumper, bouncier, and more full of collagen & elastin. The more Vitamin A the skin has, the more protected the skin is from sun damage. In fact, some forms of Vitamin A—the one used in Environ—absorb the energy of UV rays, acting as a natural sunscreen and protecting skin from DNA damage (a tan).

How can you tell if you need more Vitamin A in your life? Signs of Vitamin A deficiency include skin laxity, rough texture, sun damage, deep wrinkles, and irregular pigmentation to name a few. Why can’t you just load up on carrots, leafy greens and sweet potatoes to restore those Vitamin A levels? Because it takes 7 days to replenish Vitamin A through diet; doing so through topical application takes a few hours…I’m all about the most efficient way to feed my skin.

Once you see and feel the difference Vitamin A has on your skin, you’ll never look back!
